Why a pickleball booking platform has an MCP server

MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is the standard that lets AI tools like Claude connect directly to a system’s real data instead of you copy-pasting spreadsheets into a chat window. Courtlines was one of the first club platforms to ship one.

In practice: a club owner who already uses Claude Desktop or Claude Code for other parts of their business can connect it to their Courtlines account with a scoped API key, then just ask it questions — "how did revenue from the March open-play series compare to February?" — and get an answer pulled from real, live data. No export, no dashboard-hunting.

We kept the write surface deliberately small on purpose: the only thing an AI agent can create through the connector today is a booking inquiry, and every read is scoped to sanctioned, safe views — never raw table access. You approve the connection once; nothing changes on your club without your team acting on it.

This is an opt-in feature for clubs who want it, not something that changes how the core booking system works for anyone who doesn’t. But if you’re already living inside an AI tool for the rest of your business, we didn’t want your club’s data to be the one thing it couldn’t see.
