We're small, and we like it that way.

Courtlines is built by a small, Austin-based team that also runs a real club — Pickleland ATX. We don't have a big open-roles board or a recruiting pipeline. We hire when we find someone whose skills fill a real gap, not on a quarterly headcount plan.

Not always hiring, always listening

No open reqs right now — that's normal for us.

We'd rather tell you the truth than post a fake job listing. If we don't have a role open when you reach out, we'll keep your note and get back in touch if something opens up that fits.

What we look for

Less about a résumé, more about how you think.

Operators as much as engineers

We ship everything to our own club first. The people who thrive here think about what happens at the front desk on a busy Saturday, not just what compiles.

Comfortable with a short chain of command

No layers between an idea and shipping it. You'll own things end to end, and you'll hear directly from members when something breaks.

Honest about tradeoffs

We'd rather hear "this will take longer than you think" than a confident estimate that slips. Same goes for AI features — say what it actually does, not what sounds impressive.

Genuinely likes the sport, or the people who play it

You don't need to be a 5.0 player, but it helps to actually care about the club members whose Saturday you're building software for.

Broad areas we tend to need help with

Not open reqs — just the shape of the gaps we've historically had to fill.

🧑‍💻

Full-stack engineering

Product, backend, and the occasional Saturday-morning bug that only shows up with 40 people checking in at once.

🏓

Club operations / customer success

Helping other clubs get the same value out of Courtlines that we get running Pickleland ourselves.

📈

Growth / marketing

Getting Courtlines in front of the clubs that would benefit from it — content, partnerships, word of mouth.

Think you'd be a fit?

Send us a note about what you'd want to work on and why Courtlines. No cover-letter formalities needed — a couple honest paragraphs is plenty.
